Our new members are male students who, at the time of joining us, are studying in Frankfurt am Main at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University or in other colleges such as the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. In essence, we are a liberal bunch of reasonably ambitious people, who wish to ‘get on’ in life and make as many contacts and friends as we can whilst having a great time at University or college.Learn German in no time at all
What if you are not German? Our membership includes Americans, French, Estonian, Irish and Austrians (as well as Germans, naturally). Our everyday language is German. However, it is worth pointing out that you will pick up German faster than you ever believed possible by living with us. Let language not be a barrier to making life-long friends!
Make excellent contacts
Of course, you do not have to join Corps Austria to come to our events and make friends with us. You would however be missing an opportunity to make excellent contacts, make life-long friends, attend great parties, see Germany from the ‘inside’ (as opposed to through the eyes of a visitor). Not quite the same, is it?
Free Accommodation for Members
5 minutes by foot from the University and 20 minutes from the centre of Frankfurt, you will find our spacious and roomy fraternity house in the middle of Frankfurt's exclusive and leafy Westend district. With shops nearby, a bakery around the corner, a taxi rank and the U-Bahn at the bottom of the street (4 min walk), what more can you ask for? Accommodation? Good point! Well, as a member, you can take advantage of free accommodation in our very comfortable and networked fraternity house in Germany’s banking capital. We even have our own bar. Not bad at all!
Who can join Corps Austria?
That said, we do not accept all newcomers into our fraternity. Naturally, we wish to decide if students who wish to join are ‘right’ for us in much the same way as you will have to decide if we are ‘right’ for you. Your political orientation is not our concern! Nonetheless, we have rules by which we expect our members to abide. We also have a ‘way of life’ and ‘esprit-de-corps’ which requires members to consider others before themselves and respect the ‘house rules’ of Corps Austria.
